By Barbara Carubio

There are a lot of questions in your mind right now on how you can build your career successfully as a freelancer. Sometimes you might be confused about your decision of being a freelancer rather than being an office-based employee. There will be doubt in yourself on how you can handle this type of work, workload and new beginnings but when you believe in yourself, then you can do it!

Here are some tips to help build your career successfully:

Have a vision

Yes! Have a vision on why you joined this type of industry. Evaluate if this can give you a better future and income. You need to have a clear path for your  guidance to your new journey. Set your goals and vision properly to eliminate or lessen failures and stress.

Focus on your skills and talent

This is your power or weapon, your skills and talents. Your skills and talents are the things that  clients need for their business. You must know what are the areas that you are capable of or an expert with. Try to list down your skills, talents and passions and assess yourself to each of the areas in your lists.

Getting new clients

One of the hardest things to do when you are a freelancer. Where can I find clients? Will the clients trust me? Will the clients accept my proposals or services?Yes, these are some of the questions in our mind right now especially when you are a newbie in this kind of industry. But before anything else, show them that you can do it. Prepare your portfolio to persuade a possible client. Make sure that it fits their needs and that you can help to grow and have more sales in their business

Ask the expert

Find those who are experts that will help you. Ask more questions and guidelines to make this new beginning work.

Believe and trust yourself

Before you can do anything, you must believe in all of your aspects in life as well as decisions. Just keep believing that there’s always a way and a choice for everything. If you really want it, then work hard for it. Don’t stop chasing  your dreams when you once failed. There’s no harm about it, at least you tried. Giving up is not an option, if you failed, try to improve and analyze your mistakes then try it again.
