Branding VS. Rebranding

Although this may seem like a short period of time, YVS has gone through the entire process of branding, re-branding and back.
What is the difference between the two aside from the obvious R-E before the word branding?
The word “brand” is used pretty loosely these days. For example, people might use the word “brand” to talk about logos, though a logo is just one part of a brand. It’s a symbol that represents a deeper emotional tie.
A logo, packaging, typography, and personality all represent a brand, along with customer service, price, product quality, and corporate responsibility, but a brand is a bit more intangible. It’s emotional, visual, historical, and human.
It’s an experience that separates different products and services in a world where quality is often comparable or the same.
By definition; Rebranding is the process of changing the corporate image of an organisation. It is a market strategy of giving a new name, symbol, or change in design for an already-established brand. The idea behind rebranding is to create a different identity for a brand, from its competitors, in the market.
There are two types of rebranding: one is Proactive rebranding and the other is Reactive rebranding.
Proactive rebranding is done when a company recognizes that there is an opportunity to grow, innovate, tap into new businesses or customers, and to reconnect with its users.
Reactive rebranding is done in a situation when the existing brand has been discontinued or changed. Possible reasons for such action could be mergers & acquisitions, legal issues, negative publicity such as fraud, aiming to beat the competition, or create your own niche.
