Tasks For Your Virtual Assistant

By Barbara Carubio

Hiring a virtual assistant is a good investment for any company. In our constantly evolving digital generation, everything, even working for a company can now be through a computer and it could be from any part of the world. And you can’t say that an employee that’s far away can’t be monitored, productivity wise. There are hundreds of applications and websites that could track any computer to decrease unrelated work web surfing and the like. I would like to highlight the privileges of having a Virtual Assistant. As our team did a thorough research,  we found out that the number 1 reason why some businesses are discouraged from hiring a VA is because they do not know what tasks to give them on a daily basis! We’re here to help with that. Listed below are what a Virtual Assistant can do for you once you hire them. Read on!

Social Media Engagement

Everyone you know has one of the following: Facebook Account, Instagram profile, Twitter, LinkedIn and sometimes, even Google+. There are 2 billion searches a day on Facebook alone. That’s 2 billion people, ready to read information, share and engage. Why waste money and time promoting post by post all day when you can have your virtual assistant engage and do the job for you. On Instagram, the one thing that’s to beat is the algorithm.

you don’t have engagement, Instagram will not show your profile on the suggested people to follow. If you assign a virtual assistant to target audiences/users of Instagram that’s in line with your business, i.e. coffee lovers for a cafe, then you’ll have an easier access to the first 6 photos or suggested accounts to follow on

Instagram. Facebook, on the other hand, is a bit tricky. Engaging on Facebook can be done in a different strategy. If you want to learn more about this, read this post. Bottomline is, since social media engagement can be done in the comfort of a desk, then this task is a great addition to give to your virtual assistant.

2. Current Events Research

The world is a fast-paced, day to day roll of events. Sometimes, it’s a bit hard to keep up with trends. This can be a great daily task for your VA. With a little bit of research from the right websites that’s in line with your business, keeping up with the trends can be a bliss for you. You can assign your VA to keep a tab with the current events, latest trends and even viral videos to keep your website, social media profiles and your advertisements hip and on trend. Being in-the-know can help your business appear more new and fresh everyday.

3. Cold Callings

Since this is a gruesome job for you (and for anyone else, as a matter of fact and some might say it is “illegal”), this could be a great task and a test of character for your virtual assistant. Calling somewhat uninterested leads can be irritating and

will definitely test a person’s patience. This is great if you want to know how patient and dedicated your virtual assistant is. Also, if you do not think that hiring a call center for this job is worth it for the price, then your VA is a substitute. Just make sure you have a requirement on your job posting on cold calls so your VA can be ready with his/her telephone and/or premium Skype membership. Good thing, YVSI’s (Your Virtual Sidekick Inc.) Ninjas are trained for this. *wink wink*

4. Email Follow ups and
Management

Managing thousands of emails can be time consuming and exhausting. That’s what VAs are there for, in my opinion. We

have handled clients that have hundreds of unopened emails on their accounts. Some are unnecessary, some are important. Having a VA to do this job can help you push forward and prioritize emails that are in need of a response or of a follow up. Quick tip: You can ask your VA to make a google spreadsheet where the important emails are linked so you don’t have to view all your messages on your inbox. Your VA can organize it for you on the sheet with corresponding colors and legend, if that’s what you prefer.

5. Writing Articles and Blog Posts

Before I say anything else, have in mind that if you want to give this task to your VA, know ahead of time if he/she has had experience with writing grammatically correct articles and essays. Because if not, you may still need to hire an editor or edit the articles yourself.

At the instance that your VA is already knowledgeable on grammar and punctuation (remember to put t

his on the job requirements to avoid hiring mistakes), then go ahead and give this task. You can have a daily article so your blog or website can generate more views and cover more topics on a daily basis. This is such an underrated task because sometimes, business owners are not really aware of the benefits of updating the blog’s business. This helps with #2’s objective which is to be on trend and the more views you get on your blog, the more likely it will be on top of Google’s suggested website for people who are searching for certain topics that are in line with your business.

So, there you have it. That’s all for our list of Virtual Assistant tasks you can give your VAs. We can share more, just let us know! Also, just an additional info, all our Virtual Sidekicks have the qualities and skills for
