Freelancing can be a hit or miss situation. Regardless of how good you are as a consultant, the quality of your client comes into play.

We are all looking for that perfect client. Here are are some warning signs that your client may be the opposite of perfect:

  • Vague and/or forgetful – clients need to be clear about what they want. Get it in writing! That way nothing gets forgotten or left behind.
  • Micro-managing – these clients have trouble letting go. They can turn a projected quick turnaround time into a long drawn out process. Don’t get sucked in! Set boundaries and expectations.
  • Non-payers – is your client nit willing to pay a percentage up front? This is a RED FLAG!
